For entertainment and general informational purposes only. PaintMixLab (the “App”) suggests paint-mixing recipes from colour data and a mathematical mixing model. It is a hobby and planning aid, not a measuring instrument, and it is not a substitute for your own test mixes, colour swatches or professional judgement.

No affiliation

PaintMixLab is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to any paint manufacturer, retailer or brand, including Magicfly, Gamblin, Winsor & Newton (Winton), Castle Art Supplies, Mont Marte, Arteza, Ohuhu, Bob Ross Inc., U.S. Art Supply, or any other brand whose products, colour names or codes appear in the App or on this site. All brand names, product names, colour names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the products they refer to.

No guarantee of accuracy

Colours shown on a screen, colours captured by a camera, and colours of real paint under real light never match exactly. Results depend on your device and its settings, lighting, photo quality, paint batch, pigment load, mixing method, surface, film thickness, drying and many other factors outside our control. Recipes, ΔE values, “match” labels and calibration notes are estimates and may be wrong. Features marked beta, experimental or calibration-in-progress are provided as works in progress.

Provided “as is”

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaintMixLab and its operator (“we”, “us”) disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaintMixLab, its operator and their owners, employees and contractors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of materials, paint, canvases, artwork, commissions, data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App, this website or anything they suggest — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so some may not apply to you.

You assume the risk — paint safely

You are solely responsible for how you use any recipe and for the results. Oil paints, mediums and solvents can be hazardous. Always read and follow the manufacturer’s labels, safety data sheets and disposal instructions; keep paints and solvents away from children and pets; work in a ventilated space. The App gives no health, safety, toxicity or environmental advice and nothing in it should be taken as such.

Not professional advice

Nothing in the App or on this site is professional, conservation, restoration, commercial colour-matching, archival or legal advice. For work where colour accuracy or permanence matters, consult a qualified professional and test physically before committing.

Subscriptions and third-party services

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms; manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Third-party services used by the App (sign-in, cloud storage, analytics, attribution) are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the App, its paint sets, data or features at any time without notice, and may update this notice. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

This notice and the Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, unless applicable consumer law gives you other rights.
